First, the history: I have slept on the floors of friends apartments where smells of cats past were strikingly fresh. I have slept on hotel room floors and pull-out couches and non-pull-out-couches and even, once, a blow-up pool raft . I have slept on the cold, hard, bumpy ground in Yellowstone National Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and a few hundred other campsites from Central Texas to Montana.
