Spring Hill Considers Five Guys Sleep Number Store
SPRING HILL Spring Hill shoppers could see construction of a new Five Guys burger chain restaurant, along with a Sleep Number mattress store located near The Crossings.
Both businesses were discussed as a joint 5,425 square-foot facility during Mondays work session of the Municipal Planning Commission, where Alabama-based developer Gonzales-Strength & Associates sought site plan approval. The site would be located at Columns Way off Main Street just south of Kedron Road, which will also house the new Arbys drive-thru.
Five Guys, which specializes in burgers, hot dogs and fries, opened its first location in 1986. It now has more than 1,400 locations worldwide, including restaurants in Franklin, Brentwood and Nashville. Its 2015 sales figures also reported more than $1.4 billion.
Im a big fan of Five Guys, Harry King, a Spring Hill resident, told planners during time for comment. I would ask that you guys push this through so I dont have to go to Cool Springs.
Spring Hill Planning Director Steve Foote said the applicant opted to skip the voluntary sketch plan phase of approval, which typically gives an overview of the sites design and gives the city and developer more time to make any necessary changes. Foote said he has met with the applicant prior to the meeting to discuss any revisions. These include the location of the sites trash receptacle, what building materials will be used and requiring construction of internal roads to be completed before occupancy.
