Can You Return The Mattress Without A Receipt
If you have a Costco membership, you do not need a receipt to return a mattress. They will check your membership records and previous orders to see the mattress purchase, and will immediately issue your refund. However, if you are not a Costco member, it would help if you have the receipt, but it may not be required to get your return. But for a more hassle-free return, it would be better to save the receipt.
Abusing The Return Policy
Just because you can doesnt mean you should. Although very lenient, one should abuse Costcos return policy. Misusing it could result in losing your Costco membership. If you have made countless mattress returns over the years, they will review your membership history and possibly revoke it.
One woman, for example, returned her printer after eight years because it stopped working. The manager who declined the return said that the woman had made so many returns over the years that they could not take any more. The customers membership ended up canceled. Jeff Long, Senior Vice President of Costco who responded to the said woman, mentioned that from her membership review, the woman has not been happy with their products therefore, it was appropriate to terminate the membership.

On Your Side Helps Woman Get $2k Refund After Bed Complaint
RICHMOND, VA An Amelia woman called 12 On Your Side at her wits end over a bed she bought, didnt like, and couldnt return. Without the refund, she would be nearly $2,000 in the hole.
Back in June, Sherry Biringer bought a bed from Sleep Number on Midlothian Parkway in Richmond. She paid nearly $5,000 for the mattress and adjustable base. She says she had a severe back injury and used insurance money from her husbands recent death to buy the bed.
But once it was delivered, she was dissatisfied.
60 seemed to be too soft, 65 seemed to cause my back to hurt, so I just wasnt satisfied with it, period. Biringer said. After 10 days, I called them. I was not satisfied with the bed. They told me I had to wait at least 30 days before I could request a return.
Once the waiting period was over, store management told her she could return the mattress but not the base, which cost about $1700. They picked up the mattress, sent her a refund check for that and left the base, citing the contract that Biringer signed when she made the purchase that says bedding collection products cannot be returned for a refund.
When I went in there, I was still in a state of shock over losing my husband and no, I didnt read all the fine print, Biringer said. It tells you in the smaller lettering that this is non-returnable, but I didnt read everything. I think for this much money, this should have been in large print or verbally discussed.

What Is Not Covered In The Warranty
Sleep Number goes into pretty specific detail about whats not covered . The gist is that if people do something to damage/tamper/mess with the mattress, the responsibility is all theirs.
One of the biggest things to note is that Sleep Number is not responsible for how comfortable the mattress/bed is to someone. If it turns out that the way the mattress is constructed just doesnt suit someones needs, theyre still responsible for the full cost.

Your warranty excludes claims for conditions arising from normal wear and tear including but not limited to mattress cover compression, foam compression, discoloration of parts or normal body indentations. This warranty does not provide coverage for claims related to comfort preference .
Damage caused by using the product in any manner that is inconsistent with applicable owners guides, user manuals or other operational instructions or fromlaundering or drycleaning the product or any part thereof as well as damage caused by misuse or abuse including but not limited to stains, soil, burns, cuts, tears or spills or factors other than a product defect, are also excluded hereunder and will void this warranty.

Unforeseen Shipping And Delivery Fees
Some customers complained of being charged for shipping and return shipping in the case of returning items, yet those terms were not clearly stipulated at the time of purchase. Also, installation and setup are not free. In some cases, there was a significant delay in delivery, and the customers sought to cancel Sleep Number orders in vain.
Review #2395835 highlights the top Sleep Number complaints, including poor customer service and delivery issues. In the video review, the customer narrates how they bought a second bed from SleepNumber.com after being satisfied with the quality of their first bed in 2017. However, this time, things did not go as smoothly.
After ordering, the delivery date was set at 3 weeks. However, the company did not manage to deliver it and set the delivery date a few days after 3 weeks. They were later called by the delivery team, who said that the delivery had been canceled without any explanation.
On contacting the Sleep Number support to further follow up on the issue, they were told the earliest delivery date would be in a week. The customer noted that even though the Sleep Number beds have exceptional quality, customer support is lacking.

The Sleep NumberC2 mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial. From the day your mattress is delivered and set up, you have 100 nights to try it out. It can take multiple weeks of experimenting to find your Sleep Number, so be patient while you adjust to your new mattress.
For those who decide to return the C2 mattress, simply contact Sleep Number during the trial period to initiate a return. There is a $199 return shipping fee. Sleep Number will schedule a time to have someone disassemble and collect your mattress.
While 100-nights is a good length for a sleep trial, the $199-$249 each for delivery and return result in a costly process if you decide not to keep your Sleep Number mattress.

The Sleep Number Value Beds
The Value Bed line is Sleep Numbers bed in a box option. The company is planning to discontinue it in the near future, but for now, given the current coronavirus crisis, it has gained in popularity because of its contact-free delivery. The Value lines s1 and the s3 mattresses cost about the same as the beds in the Classic line, but they have a quilted cushion layer . That quilted layer is zoned to cater to various pressure points there are five different cushioned areas in the s1 and seven in the s3. The company doesnt divulge details about its foam, so were not sure how the zones differ. But we do know that this comfort portion isnt thicker than the 2 inches we found wanting in the Classic lines entry-level c2, and the air pump sits on the floor, as opposed to being integrated into the mattress itself, like with the other lines. And although the Value line comes with SleepIQ technology, the Value Beds dont have the smart feature that allows them to conform to your body as you shift positions. We havent tried this line, but given how spartan the c line felt, we cant imagine that any amount of quilting or zoning would compensate for the thin comfort layer.

How Long Do Refunds Take From Costco
The length of time for your refund to be processed depends on both the retailer and the card issuer. It also depends on how you returned the mattress. The Costco employee who attends to you could swipe your card and begin the process of reversing the charge right away. That is if you took the unwanted mattress back to the store. Mailing back an item to the retailer will naturally delay the process by the amount of time it takes for the package to arrive.

For the most part, yes. One Costco customer returned an item to the store around $4,000. The customer originally purchased it using their Visa card online, and the store refunded with cash the same day. Stores only process a credit card refund to Costco Amex cards.
According to one customer, you return items bought with a debit card, and your refund may come as a Costco cash card.

While the mattress is great at offering pressure relief, its not the softest choice. It is medium-firm. The balance of support and comfort makes Nectar an excellent match for folks with the desire to relieve pain, especially hip pain.
