Who Might Want A Sleep Number
- People who like air beds- First and foremost, the core of the Sleep Number bed is the adjustable air mattress. Those who have had a positive experience with air beds, they will probably like what Sleep Number has to offer especially with all of its adjustable features.
- Couples who sleep differently Couples who have different support level preferences may like Sleep Number beds because most beds can be made with dual air chambers that allow each person to decide how firm their side of the bed will be. Some models like the I-10 even have comfort layers that can be adjusted on each side.

- People who want options and flexibility Individualized comfort is the name of Sleep Numbers game, so its no surprise that people who want to be able to change things up on a nightly basis will like these models. Sleep Number C2 Bed Sleep Trial
The Sleep NumberC2 mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial. From the day your mattress is delivered and set up, you have 100 nights to try it out. It can take multiple weeks of experimenting to find your Sleep Number, so be patient while you adjust to your new mattress.
For those who decide to return the C2 mattress, simply contact Sleep Number during the trial period to initiate a return. There is a $199 return shipping fee. Sleep Number will schedule a time to have someone disassemble and collect your mattress.
While 100-nights is a good length for a sleep trial, the $199-$249 each for delivery and return result in a costly process if you decide not to keep your Sleep Number mattress.
Do I Even Need A Base
The short answer is probably. Sleep Number claims that their mattresses are designed to work on a firm, completely solid base to provide proper support. However, that doesnt mean it needs to be a Sleep Number base.
If youre not buying a base from Sleep Number, make sure you own one that has a firm and non-spring foundationthink platform bed or bunkie board. The bases they do not recommend include a bed frame with slats or a traditional box spring base since these dont provide enough support and youre at risk for damaging the base.
All in all, its important you have a strong and durable base to get the best benefits out of your Sleep Number mattress. Whether thats a foot-warming, adjustable Sleep Number base, or a more generic and basic one, is completely up to you.

Instructions are provided Sleep Numbers website some of the steps include asking the sleeper to lie in their waking up sleep position and letting the mattress to go from soft to firm and back from firm to soft. This way can identify which firmness level is best.
Enough about numbers, lets talk about whats actually in a Sleep Number bed.
All Sleep Number mattresses come with one or two air chambers. These air chamber use a pump to bring in air that will inflate or deflate the chamber based on the individuals Sleep Number setting. Sleep Number calls this feature DualAir technology.
The higher the number the firmer the mattress will be. When there are two air chambers, each person can adjust the amount of air in their air chamber based on their personal preference.

Sleep Number Performance P6 Vs Easy Rest Gel Lux Mattress
Shoppers in the market for a pressure-relieving, comfortable mattress have their fair share of choices, considering that every mattress type, from all-foam to airbed to hybrid, has options made with body-conforming comfort foam layers. If you struggle with back pain or pressure points, you may have considered the Sleep Number Performance p6, which has a thick, 5 polyfoam comfort layer and can range from medium-soft to firm in firmness level.
A comparable model, although not an airbed, is the Easy Rest Gel Memory Foam Mattress. This is a king size base for a Sleep Number bed. It is split at top, feet is one piece. We paid $3,199 for it.It is like new, and if you are buying any kind of adjustable mattress, this will be a great deal for you vs. buying directly from store. The base is very heavy, and you will be responsible for picking it up, loading and moving.$1,500 obo – Cash Only

Purchase Delivery And Set Up Of The I8 Mattress
The first thing I did was go into our local Sleep Number store. I have not been in there in years and the people working in our Mobile, Al store were very friendly and knowledgeable. They explained what made the i8 special and tried to find my number. Keep in mind when you go into a store you are likely not tired and testing out the mattress is very limited. In the store I was most comfortable at setting 25, however, at home, my setting is actually between a 65-75.

Owner Review Feedback For Sleep Number Mattresses
Sleep Number mattresses are typically purchased directly from Sleep Number, so thats where we found the majority of the online reviews. Out of the 34 good-quality negative user reviews we collected about the Classic Series , 10 contained complaints about issues related to a lack of cushioning. This included reviewers describing the mattress as too firm, too thin, bottoming out, or having poor pressure relief. Several reviewers pointed out that the c series is especially problematic for heavier-weight sleepers, and others noted the support felt better once they added a mattress topper.
For negative feedback on the Performance Series, we found far fewer complaints related specifically to the mattress thinness . But four out of 26 good-quality negative Innovation Series reviews noted that the mattresses were too firm or offered poor pressure relief. Perhaps this is to be expected, given that these users paid much more for their mattresses and therefore expected more. Three out of the six Cooling Memory Foam owners complained that their mattresses were either too thin, too firm, or lacked pressure relief.

Selecting A Bed And Preparing For Delivery
If you’re seriously considering getting a 360 Smart Bed, I strongly suggest speaking with one of the company’s Sleep Professionals, who can assess your needs, give you a rundown of the different models and features, and help you pick the best model for you.
Sleep Number’s beds are expensive, but the company often runs promotions, so wait for a deal if you can. At the time of this writing, it’s offering $800 off 360 Smart Beds as part of a fall sale. The company also occasionally waives its $199 premium delivery and setup fee, which is otherwise required with the purchase of any 360 Smart Bed.
To make the cost more manageable, Sleep Number offers financing options through Synchrony Financial starting at $45 per month. For peace of mind, the company also offers a 100-night trial and a 15-year limited warranty.
Before receiving my review unit, I was a little nervous about whether it would work with my current bed frame, and I’m happy to report that it does. The FlexFit base needs to sit directly on the floor, but in many cases, can be dropped into your existing bed frame, as is the case with my setup. Sleep Number says it won’t work with platform furniture and frames with under-bed storage.

Review Of The Sleep Number 360 I8 Smart Bed
Im a side sleeper but will spend time in every sleeping position. Using the SleepIQ app , you can turn on the responsive air function, which automatically adjusts the firmness as you change positions. This gives you consistent comfort and pressure relief. It worked seamlessly and did a good job of facilitating restful, undisturbed sleep.
The Sleep Number 360 i8 Smart Bed uses ballistocardiography, a measure of ballistic forces coming from your heart, to calculate your quality of sleep and provide a sleep score. After you track your sleep for several weeks and input your sleep goals, the app offers tips for more productive sleep.
In the six months my wife and I tested the bed, Sleep Number has made several tweaks to the app that have improved the sleep-tracking accuracy. I checked for accuracy by comparing the data to my Garmin Forerunner 945 smartwatch readings and my subjective experience.
Sleep Number is best known for its adjustable firmness. The mattress has 20 firmness levels. Your sleep number is your preferred firmness level from 5 to 100 . My sleep number was 35, but my wife preferred 55. Fortunately, the two sides are individually adjustable so couples with vastly different preferences can be comfortable.
I was impressed with the edge support of the mattress. I felt comfortable sitting on the side of the bed to put my socks and shoes on and when I laid on the edge to cuddle my wife in the morning.

Ratings And Reviews Common Praise
- Couples love being able to personalize the firmness of their side of the bed. The dual air chambers available on most models means that someone who prefers a firmer bed doesnt have to compromise with a partner who likes more cushion. If one person likes to sleep on their side and another doesnt, they have a great solution here.
- People with back problems or medical issues that require them to sit up at different points love the flexibility of Sleep Number beds. They can adjust the firmness of their bed for a couple of nights if needed and can raise/lower the head of their bed with a FlexFit Adjustable Base depending on their current needs.
- There was heavy praise for the longevity and durability of the Sleep Number bed.People came back to Sleep Numbers site to say theyve had their bed for 10+ years and they are still comfortable. Of course, not everyone was able to stay comfortable in their bed for a decade without experiencing issues, but people tended to have their Sleep Number bed for a long time.
