Tempur Pedic Sleep Number Mattress

Common Complaints And Compliments

Make a Platform Bed for Sleep Number, Tempurpedic, or other foam mattresses!!!!

Here are the most common compliments and complaints about Sleep Number beds, from the customers themselves! You can also read more in my common complaints blog post.

Top Common Compliments:

Pain relief. Many happy customers said they woke up pain-free from issues that used to keep them up all night. The models that fell in middle-range firmness i6 and i8 are especially known for balancing firmness and comfort really well. In fact, an overwhelming number of people specifically spoke about back pain being alleviated. The adjustability of the bed also makes this a flexible sleep option, so if youre having any aches, moving your sleep number setting up or down could help with some of your discomforts.

Great for partners! This bed is a great option for couples, especially those who have different sleep styles and comfort or firmness preferences. The DualAir chambers feature means each side of the bed can be adjusted separately so you can sleep exactly how you want to without having to compromise with your bedmate.

Awesome technology. If you love data and technology features in your new mattress, look no further. From temperature-regulating technology to automatic adjustments in the middle of the night, to your bed measuring your sleep activity and giving you a Sleep Score, this bed is a great option for sleep nerds.

Top Common Complaints:

Conforming Ability & Back Pain Relief

Both brands offer good conforming ability, while Tempur-Pedic may exceed Sleep Number a little bit.

Generally speaking, both brands perform well in preventing or reducing back pain. Sleep number may be a better choice considering its capability of adjusting firmness on two sides at the touch of a button.

Modular & Adjustable Bases

Since Sleep Number is all about individualized comfort, it is not surprising that they also make different types of bases for the mattress.

Sleep Number makes one modular base and three different adjustable bases for their mattresses: FlexFit 1, FlexFit 2 and FlexFit 3.

Note: A Sleep Numbers modular or adjustable base is not the only base that works with a Sleep Number mattress. All one needs to have is a flat and sturdy surface for the mattress or the individual may potentially void his or her warranty.

Structural Differences Between Sleep Number & Tempur

Lets start with the obvious. Sleep Number and Tempur-Pedic mattresses are drastically different products. Sleep Number Bed is a high quality air mattress equipped with an air pump and two adjustable chambers. The biggest selling point of an adjustable air mattress is that no matter what your sleep needs or preferences are, there is a Sleep Number setting perfect for you.

On the other hand, Tempur-Pedic is the oft-imitated original. Long before memory foam and gel memory foam mattresses were a thing, there was the Tempur-Pedic mattress. Made with TEMPUR® material, an adaptive viscoelastic foam superior to memory foam in every way, Tempur-Pedic mattresses are made to contour to your bodys shape, and respond to your bodys weight and temperature. This provides top-notch pressure point relief and proper alignment of your spine and other joints.

Which Sleep Number Bed Is Best

Tempur

Now to the real meat of it! Here is a breakdown of every Sleep Number bed so you can figure out what is best for you.

For Firm Loves, Without Bells and Whistles

The C Classic series mattresses will be the most affordable option, but also the most limiting. These beds will be on the firmest end of the spectrum and come with the least amount of bells and whistles. Still, this could be a great option if youre on a budget but still want the ability to adjust the level of air pressure in your mattress with the click of a button.

The Sleep Number c2 Bed:

The c2 bed does not come with a foam mattress pad on top of the air chamber. Instead, it has a soft fiberfill sewn into a thin layer right above the air chambers. This is a great option for people who love firm beds especially side sleepers. Many reviewers said the bed did a great job at helping alleviate back pain by providing ample and firm support. Others spoke to the beds longevity and a few were happy with the price point being more manageable than comparable beds.

Lastly, the c2 includes a 15-Year Limited Warranty, which means any damage to the bed due to a manufacturing or material issue will be covered by Sleep Number for the first two years. After that, a percentage of the cost will be replaced or refunded up to 15 years based on the type of damage reported.

Sleep Number Vs Tempur Pedic The Ultimate Brand Face

Sleep Number and Tempur Pedic are two monster brands in the mattress industry and theres no wonder why, they have extensive product lines and offer a wide range of mattress characteristics. But which one is better?

Both Sleep Number and Tempur Pedic offer excellent choices to choose from, with Sleep Number the air-chamber support can be adjusted to provide individual support for that specific sleeper while Tempur Pedic utilizes their TEMPUR Memory foam to offer contouring feel to individuals.

But wait let me tell you something:

Despite being super successful and popular brands the differences in the designs and construction, the things these mattresses have in common are few and far between. They offer excellent products but they serve very different purposes.

To make things easier for you Im here to explain how these brands build their mattresses, how they feel, comfort, the cost, durability, warranty , and how to navigate your way to find the best mattress for you.

Both offer a great range of products but who comes out on top after my 7-stage test? Lets find out!

Sizing And Weight Options

A heavier mattress will be more difficult to move, which is a factor for people who expect to relocate with any frequency. The height of a mattress can affect how well your sheets fit as well as how easily you can get in or out of bed, which is a primary concern for people with knee, hip, or back pain.

Choosing the right mattress size has a direct impact on your comfort in bed, the space in your bedroom, and the total price youll pay. Most mattresses are available in the six standard sizes twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king but there are exceptions within the Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number product lines. Some models are not offered in smaller sizes, and more specialized non-standard options are available for many mattresses.

Cost Of Sleep Number Vs Tempurpedic

Tempur-Pedic beds range from $1,199 to over $8,400. Sleep Number beds typically cost between $500 and $8,200. The average price for a queen size mattress is much lower for Sleep Number than it is for Tempur-Pedic. Sleep Number does have one model that is significantly more expensive, but for the sake of comparison, the $10,000 X12 model is excluded.

While Tempur-Pedic tends to be more expensive than most comparable Sleep Number beds, the standard Tempur-Pedic models require little to no additional upkeep expenses. On the other hand, the cheaper initial investment of the Sleep Number bed can be offset by the need to replace mechanical parts.

Because more mechanical parts are used in the Sleep Number bed, there can be some additional expenses, should you ever need to replace the air mechanism. Be sure to check the warranty to see how much coverage is offered on the inflating mechanism over the lifespan of the warranty. When incorporating lifetime costs, both brands rate nearly identical in cost.

Which One To Buy

TempurPedic Cloud Bed-In-A-Box Mattress Review | Top Memory Foam Bed

As you have seen, both mattress brands offer a variety of models in different firmness settings to suit the needs of the majority. Tempur-Pedic offers a more traditional approach with a certain bed in a specific firmness level, which is excellent for all the sleepers who already know their preferences. However, with their adjustable firmness, Sleep Number beds are a tough competitor to beat, since they make a perfect choice for couples, and all the sleepers whose preferences may vary or they simply like to change the feel of their mattress from time to time.

When it comes to different body types and sleep positions, you can always find something for yourself in Tempur-Pedics broad range, if you are overweight go for the better support and firmer, hybrid models, while lightweight sleepers should opt for softer versions. Sleep Numbers adjustable options makes it perfect for all sleepers since you can adjust it to suit your body shape.

If you are still in doubt, here are the reasons why you should choose one of them.

Choose Tempur-Pedic if:

  • You like close contouring. Tempur-Pedic beats the Sleep Number in this category, as their beds offer more hugging and close conforming. Also if you are looking for relief for your pressure points, this might be the better choice for you.
  • You want a premium service. Most brand charges white glove delivery, and so does the Tempur-Pedic, but they charge it only $25, which is nothing in comparison to how much some other brands charge.

Tempurpedic Vs Sleep Number Mattress Comparison: Which Is Best Update 01/2022

Tempur-Pedic and Sleep Number are two of the most recognizable names in the mattress industry. They are two of the most well-known mattress firms in the world, and their products are all based on a single mattress component.

Its TEMPUR memory foam, developed by NASA and marketed by Tempur-Pedic, which is used in the companys mattresses and pillows. This material works to alleviate pressure, support the spine, and promote comfort by closely conforming to the body. It also excels at keeping one persons movement from waking up the person lying next to them, making it ideal for a peaceful nights sleep.

The adjustable air chamber that serves as the foundation of Sleep Number mattresses is the companys most distinctive feature. Air can be added or removed from the mattress using a remote or smartphone app until the sleeper reaches their preferred Sleep Number firmness. If youre looking for a mattress that can be customized for you and your partner, this is the one.

It can be difficult to pick between these two high-end mattress companies because of their distinct advantages. It can be difficult to tell the difference between all the mattresses on the market because each has a variety of options.

    Patented Airflow Transfer System

    Sleep Number vs Tempur

If your body type generates extra heat or you just want to sleep cooler, all our memory foam beds come with the option of adding on our patented Airflow Transfer System, which allows cooler air to flow in two directions even when you sleep in the same position all night. Cooler air will enter through the many small holes that go down through the surface of the memory foam and out through the convoluted channels on the firmer base foam.

It also works in reverse, as air can enter through the sides and up through the surface holes. This unique system also allows a heat transfer as the warmer air radiates off the body and ventilates down through the holes and out the sides of the mattress. That is why we always use a breathable fabric where the channels exit on the sides of the mattress. In addition, a greater volume of airflow transfer will occur with even the slightest movements that occur throughout the sleeping process. While some mattress companies offer airflow through the middle layer of the mattress, they fall short of allowing the mattress user to receive any airflow benefit.

Airflow Transfer System® is protected by U.S. Patent No. 7,334,280.

    Pottery Barns Raleigh Bed

We decided to get the same bed as my sister did the Pottery Barn Raleigh bed. We saw hers at Christmas and loved it, and after all we share the same genes, so it makes sense that wed love the same bed : ) Plus were both from near Raleigh, NC!

I love the gorgeous nail head detail.

And love that it doesnt require a bed skirt! Its upholstered all the way around.

Why Should You Rotate Your Mattress

Overuse of certain areas sags your mattress. Sleeping on a sagging mattress disturbs the neutral alignment of your spine. Spinal misalignment triggers back pain, neck aches, and muscle stiffness. Rotating your mattress allows one area to recover from regular use, as another area gets used. It prevents mattress wear, extending durability.
