Sleep Number Adjustable Base Price

How Do I Choose An Adjustable Bed

Sleep Number cSE Modular or Adjustable Base Mattress Set on QVC
  • Consider your budget. If youre looking to invest in an entirely new bed, you may benefit from a full sleep system that has both an adjustable base and an adjustable mattress. If youre just looking to customize your comfort level, you may be better off buying an adjustable mattress or an adjustable base that changes your head and feet positioning.
  • Features like sleep tracking, massaging, lights, USB ports, and more can be great bonuses. Also consider if you want to want to use with a remote control or even your smart phone.
  • Head-raising capability: You can program some beds to raise your head when its time to wake up. Not only do you get to customize your sleep position for personalized comfort, but the head elevation helps if you or your partner snore, or even if you want to raise your head to read or watch TV. Plus, an adjustable head means you can get into what the brands refer to as zero gravity position, meaning you feel weightless because your head and legs are both elevated. You get the comfort of sleeping in a recliner in your own bed.

Best Adjustable Mattress

Smart Bed 25 Year Limited Warranty

This warranty includes all Sleep Number 360 smart bed mattresses and Sleep Number 360 smart bed integrated bases and frames purchased after January 1, 2017.

Once again, we suggest that you read the full warranty policy on the website. There are some key notes:

  • Sleep Number will essentially cover the cost of a manufacturing or product defect in full for the first two years of the warranty.
  • There are several things you can do to void your warranty. Some of these include tampering with the Firmness Control system or remotes, staining/damaging your mattress with liquids or fluids, ripping off the legal tag, opening the remote and forget to keep your original receipt .
  • After the first two years, you are responsible for a portion of the price needed for any repairs or replacements to your mattress or base.

Here are more details on Sleep Numbers warranties.

Adjustable Bases & Additional Features

Other add-ons for both brands include adjustable bases loaded with features, as well as warming and cooling options. Tempur-Pedic offers mattresses like the PRObreeze and LUXEbreeze that feel 3 degrees and 8 degrees cooler than the normal TEMPUR-Adapt mattress respectively. Meanwhile, Sleep Numbers top-end adjustable base, the FlexFit 3, has a foot-warming feature.

Speaking of mattress bases and foundations, both Sleep Number and Tempur recommend using their own bases. Those old box springs just wont cut it. Both brands have options for flat foundations, but to get the full functionality, youll really need their adjustable base.

Sleep Number has a lineup of 3 adjustable bases ranging in price from $1,199* to $2,399*. Tempur-Pedic has a line of 4 adjustable bases ranging from $849* to $2,199*. Although, we have to give the edge to Tempur-Pedic here as they are the only ones offering 2-zone and 4-zone massage functions on some of their bases.

The Sleep Number 360 Smart Bed Performance Series

The Performance Series is slightly plusher than the Classic Series. The p5 and cooling pSE each have 4 inches of cushioning, for a total height of 10 inches. The p6, the companys most popular mattress, has an additional inch of cushioning, for an overall thickness of 11 inches.

Compared with the beds in the Classic line and the Performance lines p5, the p6 felt like a real mattress, the kind with a surface thats adequately cushioned for people who are not particularly high-maintenance. But when I tried the p6 at home, I couldnt shake the feeling that I was sleeping on a rubber raft. The 5 inches of foam wasnt enough for me to nestle into, even with a softer air-bladder setting. Letting out air offered more give, but then the bed didnt feel as supportive, and it still didnt feel fluffy, per se.

I was left feeling adrift, but my husband, by contrast, loved sleeping on the p6. For once, instead of compromising on my medium-soft-mattress preferences, he could sleep on a firm mattress next to me. It was a sad day for him when we returned this mattress.

The pSE wasnt available to try at the store when I visited, but Sleep Numbers publicist said it has proprietary ClimaTemp foam that is softer and more plush than whats typically used on the p series. Unfortunately, were not sure exactly how this technology works because Sleep Number doesnt share details about its foam.

Sleep Number Trial And Warranty

Sleep Number Memory Foam Full Mattress with Adjustable ...

Sleep Number offers a 100-night trial that begins the day your new mattress arrives. The company asks that you give yourself 30 nights to adjust to your new mattress.

If youre not happy after 30 nights and before the 100-night trial ends, you can contact the company to arrange a return or exchange. This is a necessary step, as Sleep Number must authorize all returns. Some accessories, including bases, cant be returned.

Shipping and delivery fees apply for any permitted returns. In some cases, the only available return shipping option may mean the product is picked up by Sleep Number at your cost. Returns cant be processed in retail stores.

Sleep Number mattresses have a 15-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use. If you have a claim during the first warranty year, you dont have to pay for repairs, but you may be responsible for shipping fees.

Costs go up significantly after the first year. Through year 11, youre responsible for paying 30 percent plus 5 percent for each year from the date of purchase if you have a claim. From year 11 to year 15, youll pay 85 percent of the costs if you have a claim.

Warranties vary for Sleep Number accessories.

The Sleep Number Innovation Series

The Innovation Series is Sleep Numbers highest-end, plushest line. Although these mattresses arguably dont feel as plush as most foam or innerspring mattresses of similar price, the beds in this line actually feel like nice mattresses. If I were set on a Sleep Number mattress and could afford to do so, Id spend more for the Innovation lines added cushioning. But for someone like my husband, who just wants something adjustable and comfortable enough to sleep on, a less-expensive p6 would do just fine.

The i8 comes with 6 inches of foam and a temperature-balancing surface , and it felt pleasantly pillowy. The i10, with its additional inch of foam, was just a tad fluffier. Like the pSE from the companys Performance line, the iLE is not a typical fixture in-store, and it, too, has the ClimaTemp foam, described by the company as softer and more cooling.

Sleep Number 360 I8 Smart Bed

  • Price: $$$
  • Type: adjustable air bed
  • Height: 12 inches

Sleep Number says their Innovation Series provides contouring and temperature control. It has a 6-inch comfort layer and fabric thats designed to absorb excess heat and keep you cool all night.

But the comfort comes at a price. This line is the most expensive of Sleep Numbers mattresses, and thats before you start upgrading.

The i8 Smart Bed has a lot of reviews: more than 26,000, with an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars. More than 22,000 reviewers give it 5 stars. Many reviewers love the upgraded features, which add over $2,000 to the price tag.

Sleep Number is one of the most well known mattress brands and has good scores from customers on initial comfort with its number firmness technology. However, there are some complaints about durability on the electronics, pumps, and air technology, which cause customers concern about value over time.

Sleep Number Classic Series C2 Vs Personal Comfort A2 Bed

Sleep Number cSE Modular or Adjustable Base Mattress Set on QVC

Both the Sleep Number Classic Series c2 and Personal Comfort A2 mattresses are airbeds. Like Sleep Number, Personal Comfort exclusively produces airbeds with customizable firmness levels to suit your weight and sleep position, but Personal Comforts prices tend to be lower. The A2 is part of Personal Comforts Classic Series, which is the most affordable of the brands five airbed lines.

The A2 is 9 thick, is dual-sided, and has a 1 comfort layer. The c2 by Sleep Number is 8 thick, is dual-sided, and has a 2 gel-infused comfort layer. Overall, the beds are very similar in construction, but the Sleep Number c2 devotes a bit more material to the comfort layer and is, surprisingly, more affordable than the Personal Comfort A2.

Sleep Number Bed History

The founders of the Sleep Number bed approached the problem of the need for a true dual sleep system due to their own personal experiences with a lack of bed surface comfort. Either they or their wives, were uncomfortable with the mattress choices they had- resulting in one person not getting the sleep they deserved. The vision of the company began to provide a wholly unique, and new comfort approach to sleep which allowed for a customizable, and adjustable bed, sleep experience.

Today all of the Sleep Number beds are able to be adjusted to alleviate pressure points and create a surface that works with your body type and personal needs. They also all have an integrated SleepIQ technology to help monitor and report on your sleep habits in order to make adjustments and reflect on your overall health in relation to the rest you recieve. This is a highly advanced approach which currently is unparalleled by any other company.

Adjustable Firmness Vs Fixed Firmness

Sleep Number differs from most mattress brands in that sleepers can use the remote to adjust the mattress firmness almost instantly. Adding air to the air chambers makes the bed feel firmer, while removing air makes it plusher. The Sleep Number mattresses are ideal for sleepers with changing comfort needs. As each side of the mattress can be adjusted independently, these mattresses are also suitable for couples with different firmness preferences.

Dual Air Chamber Controls

Sleep Number i10 Legacy FlexTop King Adjustable Mattress ...

Every Sleep Number is equipped with either one or two, air chambers that are individually controlled to provide a true dual sleep experience. These air chambers can be set to your own unique Sleep Number and changed as you see fit. They also are able to adjust through the night separate from your controls to accommodate movement to help reduce pressure points and influence comfort.

Ratings And Reviews Common Praise

  • Couples love being able to personalize the firmness of their side of the bed. The dual air chambers available on most models means that someone who prefers a firmer bed doesnt have to compromise with a partner who likes more cushion. If one person likes to sleep on their side and another doesnt, they have a great solution here.
  • People with back problems or medical issues that require them to sit up at different points love the flexibility of Sleep Number beds. They can adjust the firmness of their bed for a couple of nights if needed and can raise/lower the head of their bed with a FlexFit Adjustable Base depending on their current needs.
  • There was heavy praise for the longevity and durability of the Sleep Number bed.People came back to Sleep Numbers site to say theyve had their bed for 10+ years and they are still comfortable. Of course, not everyone was able to stay comfortable in their bed for a decade without experiencing issues, but people tended to have their Sleep Number bed for a long time.

Bed Types Bases And Pricing

Sleep Number sells several different 360 Smart Beds, with queen sizes starting at $1,099 for the entry-level c2 Classic series model. The company offers its FlexFit adjustable bases starting at $1,499 for a queen.

The mattresses come in a range of industry-standard sizes that fit into traditional frames and furniture sets: twin , twin XL , full , queen , king , and California king .

All 360 Smart Beds feature DualAir adjustability, Responsive Air technology, and Sleep IQ tracking. The DualAir feature allows you to dial the firmness of each side independently, so if you like sleeping on a cloud and your partner prefers a brick, you can both have it your way. The Responsive Air feature monitors the bed’s air pressure level as you sleep, and automatically adjusts to maintain your desired firmness. The SleepIQ feature tracks your shut eye, heart rate, breathing, and more.

All three above-mentioned features are optional if you’re a solo sleeper, you can get a single-chamber mattress you adjust all at once. If you’re not a fan of the Responsive Air or sleep tracking features, you can easily disable them in the app.

The last time we reviewed a Sleep Number 360 Smart Bed, we tested the p5 Performance series model with a FlexFit 1 base, which is still on the market. A Sleep Number spokesperson tells me that the p5 is a popular model, and the company recently updated it with a new sleep surface for improved pressure relief.

Keeps Your Feet Warm And Your Body Cool

If you’re always cold, you’re probably going to want the FlexFit 3 for its signature foot-warming feature, which isn’t available on the company’s other adjustable bases. As its name suggests, this feature warms just the foot end of the bed. It takes around 15 to 30 minutes to heat up. “Research has shown that having your feet gently warmed may help you fall asleep faster,” Sleep Number says.

With a dual-chamber mattress, you can individually control this feature on each side, so one person can have the foot warmer turned on and the other can have it turned off.

In testing, this feature has worked wonderfully. I have it set to High, and it gets toasty but not too hot. My one gripe is that you can only enable this feature as part of a Routine in the SleepIQ app. And since it’s only available in the Routines section of the Bed tab, it’s a bit hard to find.

To enable it, navigate to Bed > View Routines > Create a New Schedule. From there, you can select certain days of the week, set your bedtime, and set the foot warming temperature . After creating your Routine, the foot warmer will turn on 30 minutes before your bedtime, so it’s ready when you hop in. As you fall asleep, it will automatically cool down.

If you want to turn it on outside of your normal bedtime, you have to create a new Routine, which is sort of a hassle. I wish there was a button in the app to let you turn it on and off whenever you want.
