What If Your Sleep Number Bed Is Under Warranty

Sleep Number Commercial

If your sleep number bed is under company warranty, then you should call customer care before ordering or buying a new remote. Also, check your warranty before creating a make-shift pump. This is because, according to the company warranty agreement, you are eligible for a replacement remote or even a new sleep number bed.

The company may send a representative to your location to confirm the problem and how to resolve it. However, the situation will be resolved in any case.

Remember that if everything else fails, you can contact support via email, phone, or live chat.

Going with the C2 and adding my own bells and whistles

Very grateful for Candid Reviewer’s advice. We were interested in the C2 after seeing the excellent rating it received from Consumer Reports, with high marks for durability, side and back sleeping. We went to the sleep number store, stuck to our plan and avoided being up- sold, and bought both the recommended fiber topper and a gel topper to experiment with once the C2 arrives. We also are using our old metal frame with a queen-size bunkie board , for a nice savings compared to the $300 foundation from sleep number. More $ for new sheets and bedding!

Not perfect but best mattress I’ve had in….well ever.

I will not buy any other bed again.

Best bed I ever had. I’m a big person 300 Plus pounds…At year 10 the pump went out and I called…they still had my info and sold me a new pump at 1/2 price. It’s went through 2 moves and is still great! My husband is also big so it stands up to heavy folks. Folks on the phone were friendly and helpful. I’m looking now to buy my son one.

So far, So Good!

Warning: Sleep Number Beds Last Only 6 Years

I wish I had not purchased this bed since I cannot find a good sleep position and will purchase another mattress

One moth in and love it, after a few tweaks

DO NOT BUY THIS BED!!!! READ YOUR WARRANTY!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!

ONLY buy the C2 mattress, no upgrades

DO NOT BUY

Love the bed, hate the technology

Sleep Number Bed Losing Air Replacement Air Chamber

As mentioned earlier, Sleep Number is popular for adjustable mattresses. The mattresses which are actually air beds are connected to a hose and pump making it effortless to inflate and deflate the bed to achieve the desired level of comfort.

While adjustability is a great feature to a user, it means that airflow resulting from movements can result in holes or tears that cause the bed to lose air. Such an occurrence shouldn’t deny users quality sleep. Fixing the issue is possible in three ways, chief among them replacing the air chamber the other two being: checking on the firmness control system and fixing a loose hose.

Fixing or replacing an air chamber leak is somewhat more complex compared to solving a cap or hose issue. The prudent thing to do is to seek professional help at the nearestSleep Number location.

When it comes to Ghost SmartBed, it features a long-lasting, medical-grade air chamber. The air chamber has five individual zones on both sides of the mattress to ensure both partners enjoy the utmost comfort. What is for sure is that these chambers are highly customizable to the desired needs of users.

What Voids The Sleep Number Bed Warranty

SLEEP NUMBER

There are a lot of things that can void a mattress warranty. Here are the things you dont want to do if you want to keep your mattress covered:

  • Reselling the mattress: If you buy a used mattress or one from a third-party seller, you wont be covered after the first year. Understand that the first year is measured from the date the bed was purchased new from Sleep Number, not from the date you bought it used.
  • Unsanitary condition: A mattress must be in sanitary condition to be covered under warranty. If pests, body fluids, or other unsanitary damage make a product unfit for inspection, the warranty becomes null.
  • Improper support:Sleep Number mattresses have specific foundation needs. If you use your new mattress on an unapproved foundation, the warranty can become void. Use your new mattress on a Sleep Number base or an adjustable base or firm, non-spring foundation that can support the weight of the Smart Bed.
  • Tampering with the Firmness Control system: Do not open the Firmness Control system. Any tempering of this system can void the warranty.

Can I Manually Inflate My Sleep Number Mattress

Yes, you can inflate the mattress manually. This should not affect any warranty. You are only introducing air into the system due to a failed pump.

If the remote control stops working? Sleep number has you covered. First contact tech support these guys know everything possible to do with this bed.

But you can try unplugging the central pump unit from the outlet. Leave the pump unplugged for a short time. Plug the unit back in and, at the same time, press both the upper and lower button on the remote. This will reset the unit’s circuit, and you should be ready to go again.

Most Popular Sleep Number Beds

The most popular beds in the Sleep Number brand are the Classic 360® c2 and the Innovation 360® i8 Smart Bed. The first makes the list because it offers a lot of design for the price. The second does because it has every Sleep Number bell and whistle they offer.

Classic 360® c2

The Classic 360® c2 is the baseline model among all Sleep Number 360 beds. No fancy foam layers. No expensive base. Just 2 inches of fabric and foam on top of the eponymous, adjustable air chamber that basically makes a Sleep Number bed. Its affordable for a Sleep Number mattress and you can still adjust ho firm it feels. Its a budget option, but one with the most attractive mattress feature Sleep Number sells.

Innovation 360® Smart Bed i8

The Innovation 360® Smart Bed i8 is 12 inches thick with a soft and breathable fabric cover. The 6-inch comfort layer in the i8 uses two different types of foam for support and pressure relief. There is also a special material in the surface of the mattress that releases heat so the mattress keeps its cool. This bed has the dual air chambers that you can adjust to find the right firmness, SleepIQ® tracking, the temperature-balancing surface and the Responsive Air® feature that will add or release air as you shift at night to make the bed more comfortable.

Owner Review Feedback For Sleep Number Mattresses

Sleep Number mattresses are typically purchased directly from Sleep Number, so thats where we found the majority of the online reviews. Out of the 34 good-quality negative user reviews we collected about the Classic Series , 10 contained complaints about issues related to a lack of cushioning. This included reviewers describing the mattress as too firm, too thin, bottoming out, or having poor pressure relief. Several reviewers pointed out that the c series is especially problematic for heavier-weight sleepers, and others noted the support felt better once they added a mattress topper.

For negative feedback on the Performance Series, we found far fewer complaints related specifically to the mattress thinness . But four out of 26 good-quality negative Innovation Series reviews noted that the mattresses were too firm or offered poor pressure relief. Perhaps this is to be expected, given that these users paid much more for their mattresses and therefore expected more. Three out of the six Cooling Memory Foam owners complained that their mattresses were either too thin, too firm, or lacked pressure relief.

The Sleep Number 360 Smart Bed Classic Series

(QVC) Sleep Number Special Edition Adjustable or Modular Bed w/ ADAT ...

The under-$1,500 Classic Series is Sleep Numbers entry-level offering, and the mattresses in this line sure feel like it. The 8-inch c2 reminds me of a dormitory bednot surprising, since it contains only 2 inches of foam the rest of the mattress is made up of air encased in the bladder. The c4 has an inch more foam, for a total of 9 inches, and feels only slightly less institutional theres nothing cuddly about it. Unless youre used to sleeping on a mat or you plan on springing for a good mattress topper, we dont recommend this series.

In 2020, Sleep Number updated its 360 Smart Beds, adding temperature-balancing featuresincluding high air-flow fabrics and gel materialsmeant to make the mattresses feel cooler and more breathable.

Sleep Number Trial And Warranty

Sleep Number offers a 100-night trial that begins the day your new mattress arrives. The company asks that you give yourself 30 nights to adjust to your new mattress.

If youre not happy after 30 nights and before the 100-night trial ends, you can contact the company to arrange a return or exchange. This is a necessary step, as Sleep Number must authorize all returns. Some accessories, including bases, cant be returned.

Shipping and delivery fees apply for any permitted returns. In some cases, the only available return shipping option may mean the product is picked up by Sleep Number at your cost. Returns cant be processed in retail stores.

Sleep Number mattresses have a 15-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use. If you have a claim during the first warranty year, you dont have to pay for repairs, but you may be responsible for shipping fees.

Costs go up significantly after the first year. Through year 11, youre responsible for paying 30 percent plus 5 percent for each year from the date of purchase if you have a claim. From year 11 to year 15, youll pay 85 percent of the costs if you have a claim.

Warranties vary for Sleep Number accessories.

What Is Sleep Numbers Trial And Return Policy

Sleep Number offers a 100-night trial, but customers must pay for return shipping.

While Sleep Number isnt a strictly online company, its trial and return policies are similar to many other mattress e-tailers. It offers a 100-night trial for mattresses, in keeping with companies like Purple, Leesa, and Tuft & Needle.

Sleep Number states it can take about 30 days for customers bodies to adjust to the new mattressand makes it sound as though most people find their ideal setting within that period. If, however, after sleeping on your new mattress for a full 30 nights, you are not completely satisfied, contact us before the end of the 100 night In-Home Trial Period to arrange for the return of your Sleep Number bed or layer, the policy states.

Returns must be received within 30 days of initiating the process, and be in sanitary condition. Unfortunately, Sleep Number wont cover the cost of return shipping, so youll be saddled with a fee ranging from $149 to $249 plus tax. This covers the cost of techs packing up the mattress, according to a customer service rep. The mattresses are recycled, though the rep couldnt clarify exactly how, other than saying they arent turned into new mattresses.

The Sleep Number Value Beds

The Value Bed line is Sleep Numbers bed in a box option. The company is planning to discontinue it in the near future, but for now, given the current coronavirus crisis, it has gained in popularity because of its contact-free delivery. The Value lines s1 and the s3 mattresses cost about the same as the beds in the Classic line, but they have a quilted cushion layer . That quilted layer is zoned to cater to various pressure points there are five different cushioned areas in the s1 and seven in the s3. The company doesnt divulge details about its foam, so were not sure how the zones differ. But we do know that this comfort portion isnt thicker than the 2 inches we found wanting in the Classic lines entry-level c2, and the air pump sits on the floor, as opposed to being integrated into the mattress itself, like with the other lines. And although the Value line comes with SleepIQ technology, the Value Beds dont have the smart feature that allows them to conform to your body as you shift positions. We havent tried this line, but given how spartan the c line felt, we cant imagine that any amount of quilting or zoning would compensate for the thin comfort layer.
