If I were set on a Sleep Number mattress and could afford to do so, Id spend more for the Innovation lines added cushioning. The i8 comes with 6 inches of foam and a temperature-balancing surface , and it felt pleasantly pillowy. The i10, with its additional inch of foam, was just a tad fluffier. Like the pSE from the companys Performance line, the iLE is not a typical fixture in-store, and it, too, has the ClimaTemp foam, described by the company as softer and more cooling.

Nectar With Adjustable Base
TheNectar with Adjustable Base features the classic memory foam that conforms gradually to a sleeper’s body and relieves pressure. Medium- and lightweight back sleepers and medium- and lightweight side sleepers will love the comfortable sleep surface that the mattress creates.
While the mattress is great at offering pressure relief, it’s not the softest choice. It is medium-firm. The balance of support and comfort makes Nectar an excellent match for folks with the desire to relieve pain, especially hip pain.
Nectar is not a good option for heavy people and those that desire a responsive and bouncy mattress. Additionally, it doesn’t work for hot sleepers that are afraid of overheating while asleep.

To optimize sleep, knowing the weight limit is important. A bed should support the weight of a user to prevent squeaking and other issues at night.

Sleep Number offers two types of beds:

The 360® Smart Beds are organized into three categories: Classic, Performance, and Innovation.
Each series essentially builds off the other. The Classic Series beds, the C2, and C4 offer the most standard options while the Innovation Series has the largest, thickest layers and most added features.
Classic Series:

Sleep Number Trial And Warranty
Sleep Number offers a 100-night trial that begins the day your new mattress arrives. The company asks that you give yourself 30 nights to adjust to your new mattress.
If youre not happy after 30 nights and before the 100-night trial ends, you can contact the company to arrange a return or exchange. This is a necessary step, as Sleep Number must authorize all returns. Some accessories, including bases, cant be returned.
Shipping and delivery fees apply for any permitted returns. In some cases, the only available return shipping option may mean the product is picked up by Sleep Number at your cost. Returns cant be processed in retail stores.
Sleep Number mattresses have a 15-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use. If you have a claim during the first warranty year, you dont have to pay for repairs, but you may be responsible for shipping fees.
Costs go up significantly after the first year. Through year 11, youre responsible for paying 30 percent plus 5 percent for each year from the date of purchase if you have a claim. From year 11 to year 15, youll pay 85 percent of the costs if you have a claim.
Warranties vary for Sleep Number accessories.
The Sleep Number Bed Warranty Fine Print
- SleepIQ technology: The warranty states that the SleepIQ reports and functionality are not covered under the warranty. We followed up with their customer service team to clarify if the SleepIQ hardware was covered. We were told that SleepIQ hardware and software defects are covered, but other difficulties with SleepIQ are not.
- Pre-owned mattresses : Secondary purchasers through third-party resellers from places like Amazon, Craigslist, or Ebay only have coverage during the first warranty year. This first year starts on the day that the original purchaser bought the new bed through Sleep Number or an authorized reseller. For years 2-14, only the original purchaser is covered.
- Loss of use is not covered: The warranty does not cover any inconvenience incurred by you due to a defect. This means you wont be reimbursed if you need to buy a replacement mattress during repair times, for having to reinstall a replacement mattress, or any other inconvenience.
- Commercial use is not covered: Sleep Number warranty applies to mattresses purchased for personal use. Commercial use, such as use in a hotel or an Airbnb, is not covered.

How To File A Claim
To initiate a warranty claim, contact Sleep Numbers customer service team at 1-800-472-7185. On the phone call, they will provide you with a return service order number. Keep this number as its required when you ship anything to Sleep Number.
Because Sleep Number mattresses are smart beds, troubleshooting is often a part of the warranty process. The Sleep Number representative will work with you to identify the problem, determine if its covered under warranty, and provide next steps.
Before contacting Sleep Number, its helpful to have the original receipt. If you dont have this, collect the original purchase date, delivery address, and purchaser name. You may also need to locate the law tag on your mattress. This label has identifying information that validates the mattress.

On Your Side Helps Woman Get $2k Refund After Bed Complaint
RICHMOND, VA – An Amelia woman called 12 On Your Side – at her wits end over a bed she bought, didn’t like, and couldn’t return. Without the refund, she would be nearly $2,000 in the hole.
Back in June, Sherry Biringer bought a bed from Sleep Number on Midlothian Parkway in Richmond. She paid nearly $5,000 for the mattress and adjustable base. She says she had a severe back injury and used insurance money from her husband’s recent death to buy the bed.
But once it was delivered, she was dissatisfied.
“60 seemed to be too soft, 65 seemed to cause my back to hurt, so I just wasn’t satisfied with it, period.” Biringer said. “After 10 days, I called them. I was not satisfied with the bed. They told me I had to wait at least 30 days before I could request a return.”
Once the waiting period was over, store management told her she could return the mattress – but not the base, which cost about $1700. They picked up the mattress, sent her a refund check for that and left the base, citing the contract that Biringer signed when she made the purchase that says bedding collection products cannot be returned for a refund.
“When I went in there, I was still in a state of shock over losing my husband and no, I didn’t read all the fine print,” Biringer said. “It tells you in the smaller lettering that this is non-returnable, but I didn’t read everything. I think for this much money, this should have been in large print or verbally discussed.”
