How To Prevent Mold In Sleep Number Beds
Regularly vacuum your sleep number bed. This will remove the dust and dirt that can accumulate inside it. You can even hire a professional to do this for you, especially if you have one of the higher-end models with mattress pads that both inflate and deflate as needed.
Remove the mattress pad when washing it by itself in the laundry machine. Make sure that you use hot water and a heavy-duty detergent to kill mold spores stuck on its surface. As always, make sure to read manufacturers directions before putting any electrical appliance in the washing machine or dryer.
Dry the mattress pad by itself in the dryer. Dry it on high if possible so that all moisture is gone before putting it back inside your sleep number bed. As an extra safety measure, leave it for at least 24 hours to ensure that any remaining moisture has evaporated away into the air.

Going with the C2 and adding my own bells and whistles
Very grateful for Candid Reviewer’s advice. We were interested in the C2 after seeing the excellent rating it received from Consumer Reports, with high marks for durability, side and back sleeping. We went to the sleep number store, stuck to our plan and avoided being up- sold, and bought both the recommended fiber topper and a gel topper to experiment with once the C2 arrives. We also are using our old metal frame with a queen-size bunkie board , for a nice savings compared to the $300 foundation from sleep number. More $ for new sheets and bedding!

Best bed I ever had. I’m a big person 300 Plus pounds…At year 10 the pump went out and I called…they still had my info and sold me a new pump at 1/2 price. It’s went through 2 moves and is still great! My husband is also big so it stands up to heavy folks. Folks on the phone were friendly and helpful. I’m looking now to buy my son one.

The Sleep Number Innovation Series
The Innovation Series is Sleep Numbers highest-end, plushest line. Although these mattresses arguably dont feel as plush as most foam or innerspring mattresses of similar price, the beds in this line actually feel like nice mattresses. If I were set on a Sleep Number mattress and could afford to do so, Id spend more for the Innovation lines added cushioning. But for someone like my husband, who just wants something adjustable and comfortable enough to sleep on, a less-expensive p6 would do just fine.
The i8 comes with 6 inches of foam and a temperature-balancing surface , and it felt pleasantly pillowy. The i10, with its additional inch of foam, was just a tad fluffier. Like the pSE from the companys Performance line, the iLE is not a typical fixture in-store, and it, too, has the ClimaTemp foam, described by the company as softer and more cooling.
