Comprehensive information on suite square footage is not available. Two bedroom suite square footage I have been able to find ranges from less than 1200 square feet to more than 2700. Two Bedroom Villas range from 1075 square feet to 1333 square feet.)
Prices are available. One-bedroom suites range from $580 to $1275 per night. Two bedroom pre-tax value season prices range from $1,260 to $2,210 per night.
On a per-person basis, at maximum occupancy, one bedroom suites range from $123-$265 per person per night, with $160-210 being typical.
Two bedroom suites range from $140-$516 per person per night, with $200 to $300 being typical.

We are looking to join DVC. Still undecided on if we should go resale vs. direct However, for this thread, we wanted to get other members opinion on which resort has the best 1-bedroom room type.We have a family of 4, likely 5 in the coming years and believe a 1-bedroom will get us by for the next few years. Then, as the kids get older, we can always add a deluxe studio at the same resort for our trips.Ready, set, go!

OKW has the best one bedroom because of all the space and the twin sized sleeper chair . As you need more space, booking a two bedroom villa will usually save you points over booking a one bedroom plus a studio. Also, if you book them separately, there is no guarantee they will be close to each other. Then the studio will need an adult staying in the room.

I agree that asking whether its ever cheaper to stay in a regular hotel room compared to renting a DVC Villa was pushing it. But I like facts and not assumptions, so lets do our due diligence.
Art of Animation Little Mermaid Room
I figured Id start at the top: out of all the Value rooms, the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation tend to be the most expensive. If you cant save it there, then you cant save it anywhere. After a little data wrangling, I ended up with the chart below.
I dont like to use really crowded charts like this unless theres a good reason, and theres a good reason here. In earlier articles comparing renting to reserving through Disney, I didnt need to show the data week-by-week because the savings were so huge, commonly 50% or more. I could use the average over a month or two, wave my hands, and say that there might be a week or two in there that was way off the average. But with the moderates and values the price differences are smaller, and we need to see each week to know whats going on.
On this chart, the vertical bars are the price of the hotel room. The horizontal marks are the prices to rent points for the DVC rooms. Every time the column is taller than a resort marker, that means you can save money by renting DVC points to stay at that resort. The legend is a little small, but if you look at the first week the top-to-bottom order of the resorts is the same as the left-to-right order in the legend.

The two-bedroom villas sleep up to 9 guests with a king-size bed, two queen-sized beds, a queen murphy bed, and a twin murphy bed. Useful amenities include a washer and dryer and a full kitchen.
The three-bedroom grand villa will sleep up to 12 guests. The luxurious accommodations include two guest bedrooms offer two queen-sized beds each, with an en suite, or shared bathroom, plus a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

Campsites At Disneys Fort Wilderness Resort
And finally, the most affordable option for a family of five to stay on property is to camp at Fort Wilderness. Campsites start at only $55 per night and sleep up to TEN people at no additional cost!

If tent camping isnt your thing, or you want to visit when its hot at night, another option is to rent an RV for your stay! While I havent done this myself, I have read reviews of others who say it is a great way to go. You can rent an RV at Fort Wilderness that sleeps five from $70/night at RVShare.com.
Campsites are rarely if ever included in a discount so the best way to book is direct with Disney here.

The glamour and magnificence of the Victorian era can be relived at Disneys Grand Floridian in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Magic Kingdom® is less than one mile from the hotel, and Epcot, Disneys Hollywood Studios, and Disneys Animal Kingdom are all within seven miles.
Activities for children include cruises and tea parties. The resort also has shops, a marina and on-site childcare. Valet parking is available for an extra cost. Boulder Ridge Rooms That Sleep 5
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disneys Wilderness Lodge have a deluxe studio that sleeps up to five with one queen size bed, one double size sleeper sofa and one single pull-down bed that measures 29 x 67.
One bedroom villas at Boulder Ridge sleep up to four with one king size bed and one queen size sleeper sofa. A fifth guest can be accommodated when booking on points but must provide their own bedding and linens.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas
Animal Kingdom Lodge has 18 value studios that can be had for under 10 points during Adventure, Choice, and Dream seasons .
The number of points required for these rooms in 2019 Adventure season actually dropped to only eight points per night.
The incredible view from our Value Studio
I was able to score five nights in an AKL Value Studio last year and we loved the room. It is two feet narrower than the standard studio at AKL but we didnt notice the difference.
As for views, eight of the values have a Savannah view, eight have a pool view, and two have a parking lot view.
Standard view studios at Animal Kingdom Lodge also start at only 11 points per night in the lowest seasons of the year .
Which Disney World Resort Hotels Sleep 5 Or More
If you are planning a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort youve probably heard of all the benefits and advantages of staying on property at a Disney Hotel. This is where things can get overwhelming, as the list of possible accommodations seems endless and extensive. The choice becomes more challenging for those traveling with a larger party of 5 or more, as most standard resort rooms only sleep up to 4 . Large families can try to make do with standard rooms by requesting adjoining rooms, but Disney does not guarantee that these requests will be fulfilled. Luckily for larger families, Walt Disney World Resort offers a number of Hotels that can comfortably sleep families of 5 or more and include all the coveted Disney extras.
Value Resorts-Value Resorts are the most budget-friendly hotels on Disney property and offer two options for larger families.

Dvc Resort Room Options: Studios Through Grand Villas And More
Four types of accommodations are typically available in the Disney Vacation Club Resorts:
- Studios, about the size of a typical deluxe room, or one bay, sleeping four or five
- One Bedroom Villas, with two bays, sleeping four or five
- Two Bedroom Villas, with three bays, sleeping eight to ten
- Grand Villas, with six bays, sleeping twelve
Except for the studios, whats distinctive about the accommodations in these DVC resorts is the extra space and full kitchensneither of which will be used much during a first visit, but which can be quite comfortable and convenient for returning visitor.
For most first-time family visitors, the DVC resorts are worth considering only under a few circumstances:
- Families looking for a Studio, with similar size and costs of a deluxe room, because they value the couch, microwave and toaster they typically offer
- Large families, especially those aimed at a deluxe property, who are not willing to bet on actually getting connecting rooms. Villas which can sleep 8, 9, 10, and 12 people are available.
- Smaller families looking to spread out into a One or Two-Bedroom Villa, despite the higher price.
- Families aimed at a deluxe hotel, but who can only pull it off through the cost savings of renting DVC points.
- Families who have targeted a resort which is paired with a DVC property, find it is sold out, but can get into the DVC resort.
- People who already are DVC owners.
