The Bears have upgraded at quarterback with first-round pick Justin Fields, which will bode well for the entire offense. Even if Andy Dalton begins the season as the starting QB, Mooney will see a healthy target share as the clear WR2 in the offense.

Once upon a time this would have been the end. We’d have written about Week 16 in terms of your fantasy football championship. We would have included exhortations like “this is for all the marbles” or “this is what you were playing for when you were studying all of those draft kits back in August.” Instead, we’re amidst the BIGGEST SEASON EVER. Instead, we’ll save all those platitudes for next week when all of you undoubtedly win your matchups and find yourself on the doorstep of fantasy football greatness.
But to arrive on said doorstep, you’ve gotta win this week, which could mean navigating another week of COVID-19 reports. One other caveat: The names listed below are the best guess as of the writing of this column . Who knows what the week may bring? Keep up with the news and make your pivots accordingly as we get closer to the start of the new week.
Anyway, here are some sleepers.
Reports of Austin Ekeler going on the COVID-19/reserve list have thrust Justin Jackson to the front of the Chargers’ running back depth chart. Jackson had a good night last week, racking up 99 scrimmage yards on 14 touches against a much-improved Chiefs defense. Keep an eye on Ekeler’s status during the week. If he’s unavailable, Jackson will take aim at a Texans defense that has consistently been fodder for opposing running backs. He might not absorb all Ekeler’s opportunities but he figures to take the lead in the Bolts’ ground attack.
Rob Gronkowski Te Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Another out of sight, out of mind player, Rob Gronkowski took the 2019 season off to get his mind and body right. He returned last season and was slow to shake off the rust as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. The rust lasted through Week 4, then we began to see a bit of his old self and his connection with Tom Brady.
Gronk had either over 50 receiving yards or a touchdown in eight of his last 12 regular-season games. He then caught two touchdowns in the Buccaneers Super Bowl victory.
Gronk finished the 2020 season as the TE8. Last year Rob Gronkowski proved he isnt done producing in the NFL. As long as he has Tom Brady throwing to him, hes going to be an undervalued 2021 fantasy football tight end worth rostering.

Waivers put temporary freezes on unclaimed players, giving everyone a chance to make a claim on them. When this time period ends, all waiver claims are processed and the manager with the highest waiver priority gets the player. The league’s commissioner can pick which waiver rule and waiver claim priority is used from the league settings.

When Iâm talking about breakouts, Iâm looking at players who will significantly outperform their ADP and havenât had top-12 finishes at their position in previous seasons.
