Set Your Mattress Casings
Under your mattress casing, youll find one or two openings, depending on whether you have a single or dual system. To set the air system up correctly, place them at the head of the mattress.
Youll also find two zippers at the top of the bed, which access the beds chambers. Open the bottom zipper and detach the cover to set up the air system correctly. This will also enable you to access the bed easily, for comfort, or to add layers.
What Foundations Or Bed Frames Can Be Used With Sleep Number C2
Sleep Number beds require a flat, firm, durable surface to adequately support the mattress. Platform beds and adjustable bases are the best options. Sleep Number sells both adjustable bases and an integrated base for use with their mattresses. Box springs and slatted foundations are not recommended for the Sleep NumberC2 mattress.
Place The Foam Walls And Base Pad
With your mattress top open, begin building the structure of your bed. First, make sure the notches or corner lock mechanism located at the ends of each wall face inwards, as they help give shape to and complete the rest of the wall support. Next, start with placing the long foam sidewalls along each side of the bed, followed by the end walls. Once the side and end walls are secured in place, lay the base pad flat in the middle part of the mattress.
To prevent any foam from folding, shake the base pad out before laying it into the bottom of the mattress cover. If it is dual-sided a textured side and a smooth side then make sure the smooth side faces downwards and the smooth side upwards. Also, do not forget to place the air chambers on top later on, with both hose connections facing the head of the bed. With these three parts placed properly, you will now have full access to the inside of the case, which will allow you to begin layering the bed and installing air technology.

Air Bed Repair Kit For Sleep Number Bed 3000 4000 5000 7000 90000 Series Pumps
We offer a 4 hose air leak repair kit designed for the four hose Sleep Number® pumps that were used on these 7000 and 9000 model beds. With the 4 hose system, it often used a small hose and a large hose on each air chamber from the pump. The small Hose would only read pressure, while the large hose would inflate and deflate the chamber as needed.
Level & Flat Sleep Surface
About 20% of Sleep Number bed owners report a problem with the middle of the bed where the two air chambers meet.
Some owners say there is a “valley” or “trench” in the middle, while others report a “hump.” There also can be a problem with one or both sides of the bed sloping toward the middle which can cause a sleeper to roll or slide in that direction.
The middle area may be uncomfortable to lie on, and it can be less than friendly for intimate activities, including cuddling, spooning and sex.
Sleep Number customer service may have solutions to problems with the middle, such as a “lift” which is a piece of foam that is placed under the air chambers to raise the middle.
Problems with the middle of the bed tend to be reported mainly by owners who use very different firmness settings for each side of the bed, such as 90-20. It may also be a problem when both sides use a very low or very high firmness setting.

Take Out All Internal Mattress Components
With the connector hoses removed, begin taking out the comfort layer , air chambers, center foam wall, side and end foam walls, base pad, and corner lock system . Once all these pieces are removed, you will see the bottom of your mattress.
I recommend taking photos of the inside of your mattress during disassembly. These photos will serve as a guide later on for proper placement of these same components once you reassemble your Sleep Number bed in a different room or when you have moved house.

The Sleep Number Value Beds
The Value Bed line is Sleep Numbers bed in a box option. The company is planning to discontinue it in the near future, but for now, given the current coronavirus crisis, it has gained in popularity because of its contact-free delivery. The Value lines s1 and the s3 mattresses cost about the same as the beds in the Classic line, but they have a quilted cushion layer . That quilted layer is zoned to cater to various pressure points there are five different cushioned areas in the s1 and seven in the s3. The company doesnt divulge details about its foam, so were not sure how the zones differ. But we do know that this comfort portion isnt thicker than the 2 inches we found wanting in the Classic lines entry-level c2, and the air pump sits on the floor, as opposed to being integrated into the mattress itself, like with the other lines. And although the Value line comes with SleepIQ technology, the Value Beds dont have the smart feature that allows them to conform to your body as you shift positions. We havent tried this line, but given how spartan the c line felt, we cant imagine that any amount of quilting or zoning would compensate for the thin comfort layer.

Secure The Corner Lock Mechanism In Place
While queen-sized beds have notched side walls, most double beds have a corner locking system. Simply put, these are adjacent mating side panels and end panels placed on the bottom of the mattress cover that forms its corners and keeps its walls stable. When doing a Sleep Number bed setup for a double bed, it is important to secure these in place before you can fit the foam and air chambers inside the mattress.

Both the Sleep Number Classic Series c2 and Personal Comfort A2 mattresses are airbeds. Like Sleep Number, Personal Comfort exclusively produces airbeds with customizable firmness levels to suit your weight and sleep position, but Personal Comforts prices tend to be lower. The A2 is part of Personal Comforts Classic Series, which is the most affordable of the brands five airbed lines.
